HAVE YOU EVER DREAMED ABOUT MAKING A DIFFERENCE?
We are passionate and committed to improving the lives of these children , but we need help to do this and we would particularly love skilled teachers to help us as our student teachers are keen to learn. It is an amazing experience for our kids here to have native English speakers. However, we would appreciate all offers from people who truly want to help our very special kids face a brighter future. We are like a small friendly, family and will make you feel extremely welcome. Nowadays, we are looking for the foreign volunteers as ENGLISH TEACHERS in both long/short-time.
WHAT IS IT LIKE TO VOLUNTEER HERE?
We have three class shifts here - two full-time sessions (8am-11am, 2pm-5pm) and one part-time sessions (5:30pm-6:30pm). Our classes are divided partially by age as well as English ability. Volunteers are asked to teach a maximum of 4.5 hours per day- generally, one full-time class and one part-time class.
Depending on your experience, comfort level and the English ability of the students, you may teach a class together with one of our Khmer volunteers or on your own. We have a curriculum for the younger kids and with the older students, we like to focus on speaking and developing their use of day-to-day English.
YOU CAN LIVE WITH US TOO...
In appreciation of what you do, we can offer you a bed on our space or a placement in a local family. If you stay here, you are also welcome to join the staff and live-in students every day for lunch and dinner. This is a special opportunity to spend some extra time practicing English and learning about how to interact with people from other cultures.
In turn, you will also have the opportunity to learn what it is like to live in a Khmer family environment. It comes with a lot of energy, enthusiasm and communal space. With that said, if you need more comfort or privacy, you are welcome to stay in a hotel or hostel nearby, but we are not able to cover the costs for that or your travel to the school.
