EVERY CHILD MATTERS

Education in Action Cambodia (EAC) is a local non-profit, non-political and non-governmental organization. It was established in late 2011 by a group of educated Cambodians who wanted to give back.

Many Cambodian children drop out school because of poor grades and performance. This is often because their families are living in poor conditions and have very low or no level of education. There are also many orphans or street children (those who collect rubbish on the streets).

To combat these problems, EAC has designed a special Street Children Rehabilitation Project (SCRP) where the goal is the give these children the tools they need to grow up and lead prosperous lives. This program invites children who are orphans, come from families living in poverty, and street children. We provide courses in English and Khmer. We do our best to give a chance to these children be able to help themselves and their families in the future. We also play the role of negotiator in poor communities in cases of abuse or neglect.

EAC works hard every day to ensure a successful future for the children here and at least provide them with basic education. Once they reach the age of 5, we encourage them to also enroll in the state schools where we keep in touch with their teachers and follow up on their progress. We also ensure they have the support they need to succeed in public school by offering health check-ups, lunch, clothes and school materials.

Members of EAC are also involved in creating new connections with relevant NGO's for further services and support. So far, we sustain our work through only local English student volunteers and international volunteers.

We focus on a mixed curriculum that focuses on all-things English- writing, reading, speaking, listening and of course, playing.
